** Sorry if a bunch of my old deviations popped up in your inboxes. i was just adding watermarks to stuff in my gallery, i thought they didn't send notices out for those changes @-@;;; ** i'm looking for a small CGing program, one that doesn't kill my computer, has good pressure sensitivity, and doesn't cost a fortune (so that rules out Painter and Photoshop lol...). i currently use OpenCanvas1.1 to CG and Photoshop CS for minor tweaking. I love OpenCanvas1.1, but i'd like a few more functions like more Layer modes and other brush tools.
Does anyone have any recommendations? How are the newer versions of OpenCanvas? i tried OC3.something at some point, but i don't think i liked it as much as 1.1.
i'm currently using the trial version of
Paint Tool SAI and it feels pretty good to draw in this program! O: The pen tool is the smoothest ever! But does anyone know how to save brush settings??
Currently messing around in SAI xD:
Likes: - Currently using the Water tool in SAI. It's less transparent/translucent than OpenCanvas1.1 brush tool, which i like.
- Pen tool is amazingly smooth! Good for lines
- Easy blending, good pressure sensitivity
- .PSD compatible
- CTRL + ALT + mouse drag to change brush size (got used to it in OpenCanvas xD )
Dislikes: - No way to save brush settings? Or am i just massively blind (quite likely)?
- Not a huge fan of how the toolbars and menus are stuck together along the sides (can you separate and move them around?). I work on a 15" old LCD monitor so leaves me little space to work! If only i had a widescreen monitor... O:
